JB Stone Masonry designs and manufactures stone sills for all types of buildings including new builds, home extensions and restorations. We create expertly crafted sills (or cills – it goes by both spellings!) by combining traditional stone masonry techniques with modern technology to give our customers the exact look they’re after. We can work to your architect’s drawings or design your natural stone sills for you. We also make matching stone lintels and window heads, cut from the same British sandstone.

If you require stone sills for a restoration project or listed building, we’re happy to come out to your site, take template dimensions and reproduce all existing details accurately. We cover the Chester and Wrexham area, and further afield across Cheshire, Flintshire, Denbighshire and the Wirral. When working on old properties we always take the time to hand tool using traditional methods to get exactly the right look.

Sill (or cill) Quote

Sill prices start from £120.00 per metre for PVC frames and £130.00 per metre for wood frames. All prices exclude VAT. The starting price is based on a 140mm high sill made for a modern cavity wall. For a precise quotation for larger sills, please fill out our quote form.

    How to Complete the Window Cill Form
     
    To ensure accurate cill sizing, please provide the following key measurements:
    • C (Cill Height): Should match the course height of your brick or blockwork.
    • D (Window Reveal): Distance the window frame sits back from the outer wall. Confirm with your window manufacturer.
    • B (Window Opening Size): Measured without render. Check each window individually.
     
    Standard Assumptions (Unless Specified):
    • A (Cill Seatings/Shoulders): 100mm
    • F (Drip Groove Setback): 50mm
    • G and E will be calculated during design.
     
    Additional Details Needed:
    • Frame Type: Choose PVC/metal (1, 2, 3) or wood (A, B, C).
    • Rendered Walls: Select Yes/No to ensure proper drip edge positioning.
    • Sandstone Colour: Choose Buff or Red (British sandstone only).
    • Quantity: Specify how many of each size you need.
     
    Measuring Tips:
     
    Use any unit (mm, cm, inches) and note it on the form. Use a level and tape measure for accuracy.
